PRIOR to his clash with Bradley Pryce, Kieran Gething said the fight was his for the taking, and so it proved, as the young welterweight took a clear 60-54 points victory.
Gething’s superior shape and composure began to pay off in the third round, as Pryce’s replies to the 24-year-old’s jabs and straight shots became wider and wider.
Gething’s speed gave him a definite edge and a sustained attack on the ropes left the 37-year-old off-balance and bleeding in the fourth.
A gutsy Pryce battled tenaciously through the fifth and sixth, but it was always going to be Gething’s day.
Gething will now wait patiently for a shot at the Welsh Welterweight title.
