THE champions came to town on Sunday knowing that Abergavenny were the last team to defeat them in a league game over 12 months ago.

It was always going to be a tight first-half with both sides showing lots of respect for each other. Captain Ceri Hudson opened the scoring after half-an-hour with a trademark 30 yard free kick which left the keeper flapping and gave Aber a deserved lead at the break.

The Jacks hit back with a double strike within 10 minutes of the restart and Abergavenny had to dig deep to get back in the game.

With 20 minutes left on the clock Amy Thrupp scored to level the game 2-2.

But like a Jack in the box up jumped Swansea with 10 minutes remaining to break Aber hearts and seal the win.
