ABERGAVENNY Town Girls under 12s travelled to Porth on Easter Sunday for a return fixture which ended exactly the same as the first - in a draw.

Travelling with a depleted squad due to the holidays, Abergavenny managed to create numerous opportunities to win the game, but the Porth keeper was in fine fettle.

Striker Macey McCann started the game in goal, and looked very comfortable, but Porth took the lead with a scrappy goal from a corner.

Ruby Gould and Meg Welford tested the keeper, with Mia Sherrard, Sophie Engel and Bella Wilce dominating the midfield. Defenders Brooke Davies and Cristyn Powell dealt with the Porth attack, and Aber looked in complete control but just failed to find the back of the net.

In the second-half centre back Powell replaced McCann in goal and pulled off a tremendous close-range save to keep the score at 1-0. Ruby Gould then levelled the scores following some good play between her and McCann. Meg Welford hit the post and the Porth keeper denied at least five good goal-scoring opportunities from Sherrard, McCann, Gould and Engel.

Porth again took the lead with five minutes to go, but the Aber Girls were not prepared to lose and Ruby Gould slotted home for the equaliser in the last two minutes.
