Llandudno Ladies - 0
Abergavenny Women - 5
ABERGAVENNY Women sit proudly at the top of the premier league today following an emphatic 5-0 thrashing against a very uncompromising Llandudno outfit.
The ladies now turn their attention to Cardiff Met University who travel to Pen-y-Pound this coming Sunday for what promises to be an absolute cracker.
Abergavenny could’ve been excused a slow start following their four hour journey north but it was anything but.
In the very first minute a trademark Kate Jeremiah pinpoint corner landed on the head of Laura Davies who found the top corner for a dream start.
Abergavenny settled well and created good chances for Lyndsey Davies and Lauren Daniels.
Thirty minutes in, it was once again Laura Davies who having been gifted the ball in midfield took on half the Llandudno side before firing home to double the advantage.
Having supplied a great corner in the first minute of the half Kate Jeremiah did the same in the last minute, this time finding the head of winger Gabi Hughes who made it 3-0 at the break.
Llandudno created very little but what they did wasn’t going to beat keeper Charlotte Hastings, who with a hat trick of clean sheets is the only player in the league not to concede a goal this campaign.
Talking of hat tricks, on the hour mark Laura Davies completed hers with a superb finish to seal victory.
It was the club’s other Davies, Lyndsey, who was to complete the scoring, netting her first of the season with five minutes remaining.
It was as comfortable a game as it can be against a tough physical outfit claimed manager Richie Jeremiah who now turns his full attention to Sunday when the champions come to town.
Jeremiah said, "We love the big clubs coming to Pen-y-Pound and relish the opportunity as underdogs to pit our wits against a side with resources we can only dream of.”
