Bridgend Street FC - 0

ABERGAVENNY Town gained ample revenge for their opening day defeat at Bridgend Street with a 4-0 romp at Pen-y-Pound last Saturday.

Curtis Methven opened the scoring on 22 minutes with a fine drive to give Town the lead which they still held at half-time.

As soon as the second half started Lack in Street’s goal advanced to the edge of the box intending to give a booted clearance but when he mis-kicked, Sean Feeley found the ball at his feet and slotted home from 20 yards.

Rhys Tandy was next on the score-sheet as the Town faithful were treated to some classic goals and with 15 minutes left Sean Feeley completed the rout with a smart shot on the turn.

With league leaders Croesyceiliog unexpectedly losing at home to basement boys Dinas Powys, this win puts Town within two points of them with a game in hand.

On Saturday Town face another stiff test travelling to Caerau (Ely), kick off 2pm, who boast one of the meanest defences across all three divisions of the Welsh League.

Meanwhile Town’s reserve side who fixture was lost to the weather last Saturday entertain Bridgend Street Reserves at Pen-y-Pound (2pm).
