Abergavenny Women - 11

Barry Town Ladies -

Abergavenny Women blasted their way into the quarter-finals of the Welsh Cup with a thumping 11-0 victory against a side who were looking to protect a 100 percent winning record this season.

Premier league class shone through with an eight goal first-half super show which left Barry reeling.

The score fest included four headed goals. Two from corners for Maxine Mudge, plus one each for Lyndsey Davies and Kate Jeremiah.

Two thumping free kicks from Lauren boyd and Mali Summers added to Barry’s woes. Further strikes from Laura Davies and another for Boyd made it a rout by the break.

Abergavenny’s passing game was far too much for the opposition to handle and a brace in the second half from substitute Gabi Hughes and a screamer in off the far post by Jeremiah compounded the seaside outfit’s misery.

Overall it was a thoroughly professional job from the ladies who now have a Welsh Cup quarter-Final to look forward to in the new year.
