Abergavenny Town Girls Under 13s continued their excellent start to the season with a convincing 7-2 victory over Abertillery on the weekend.

Abergavenny started off really well with attackers Carys Pond, Macey McCann and Eleri Jones causing the Abertillery team to struggle. Midfielders Bella Wilce, Sophie Engel, Mia Sherrard, Gracie Grosvenor, Isabella Rudge and Chelleter Graham-Sawyers controlled the middle with defenders Bobbi Allcock and Cristyn Powell solid at the back. Keeper Katie Barker controlled her area really well and contributed with some excellent ball distribution.

Carys Pond netted a hat-trick, Eleri Jones bagged a brace, and Gracie Grosvenor and Chelleter Graham-Sawyers scored one apiece.

The girls remain at the top of the league going into next weekend’s big showdown with second-placed Barry Town.
