Abergavenny Town Girls FC opened their Under12 Division Two league campaign with an impressive 4-1 victory against a committed Treowen Stars South team.
The win was even more impressive given that Abergavenny only had seven players available for the match compared to their opponents’ eight.
Abergavenny opened the scoring through Seren Powell with a tremendous finish from the edge of the box. Shortly before half time Holli Price doubled their advantage with a fantastic solo run and finish. After the half time break an unfortunate own goal from a Treowen corner reduced their lead to 2-1.
Abergavenny swiftly responded with a fantastic team goal. Grace Fisher playing a ball to Ffion Williams on the left wing together with great interplay between Ffion and Holli Price resulting in another goal for Abergavenny.
The win was finally sealed with a tremendous finish from a tight angle from Holli Price to comple her hat-trick and a well earned hard fought victory for the girls.
The win sent them top of Division Two of the SWWGL league.
