Abergavenny Town Girls Under 13s eventually got to play again last weekend after four weeks of cancellations and no fixtures.

The inactivity certainly affected the team. In tough conditions the girls lost 3-1 at Treowen. The loss sees the girls lose ground to league leaders Barry Town with only three fixtures remaining.

Gracie Grosvenor scored Aber’s sole goal in a game where the team created an abundance of chances but just seemed to lack the telling touch.

Next week the girls will hope to go one better when they face Abertillery away.

The team and parents were supporting and raising funds for the awareness of Kawasaki Disease, which is the leading cause of acquired heart disease in the UK
