Abergavenny Town Girls Under 13s eventually started back their league campaign with a convincing 4-0 win over Porth.

Goals came thick and fast from Eleri Jones (2), Chelleter Graham-Sawyers and Gracie Grosvenor.

The girls who hadn’t played for over a month looked a little rusty at the start, but soon settled down, creating numerous chances and forcing the Porth keeper to pull off a string of good saves.

Attackers Eleri Jones, Ruby Gould, Gracie Grosvenor and Meg Welford all kept their opponents on the back foot with some good football.

Midfielders Bella Wilce, Chelleter Graham-Sawyers, Sophie Engel, Isabella Rudge and Mia Sherrard controlled the middle of the park, assisted by a solid defensive display at the back by Brooke Davies, Bobbi Allcock and Cristyn Powell. Keeper Katie Barker controlled her area well and reacted soundly when called upon.

The girls remain at the top of Division One with no game next week. The next match will be away at Coed Eva.
