Abergavenny Town Girls Under 13s continued their charge in division one of the South Wales Women and Girls league with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Thornhill.

A hat-trick from striker Eleri Jones and an own goal sealed the win which keeps the girls at the top of the league.

The pitch held up well after some heavy rain but was heavy underfoot.

This did not stop the girls powering forward with attackers Eleri Jones, Carys Pond, Meg Welford and Macey Mccann all creating good chances.

Midfielders Mia Sherrard, Sophie Engel, Bella Wilce and Gracie Grosvenor all ran tirelessly and supported both in attack and defence.

Defenders Cristyn Powell, Brooke Davies and Bobbi Allcock all handled their opponents attacks with keeper Katie Barker in complete control in her goal.

Next week the girls are away down Newport.
