AUTUMN traditionally heralds the start of the cyclocross season and once again Tim Davies from Crossgates, Powys can reflect on an excellent summer of cross-country mountain biking.

The CC Abergavenny/JP Signs and Print ace rode strongly throughout the summer successfully defending his Welsh National Cross-Country Championship and Points titles in the Grand Veteran (V50s) category.

Davies also defended his National Points Series title, but was pipped to the British National Championship title by Scott Racing’s Nick Craig.

Davies, ever the versatile competitor, also clinched a silver on the road in the V50s category at the Welsh Circuit Race Championships held in late May in Aberystwyth.

Turning his attention to cyclocross last month, Davies, who has previously represented Great Britain in this discipline at the World Championships, got his 2019 campaign off to a resounding start with a comprehensive victory in the V50s category at Round Two of the Welsh Cyclocross League event held at Builth Wells.

Davies’s sons, Spencer and Oscar also secured top ten placings in their age category at this event.
