FOLLOWING a brilliant summer of mountain bike racing for Tim Davies where he secured the British and Welsh National Cross Country Championship and Points titles in the Grand Veteran (V50s) category, the CC Abergavenny/JP Signs and Print rider turned his attention to the road in late August clinching silver in the V50s category at the Welsh Road Race Championships.

The autumn and the start of the cyclocross season have seen a number of CC Abergavenny’s club members racing in the Welsh Cyclocross League.

Davies, who has previously represented Great Britain in this discipline at the World Championships, got his cyclocross campaign to a resounding start with victories in the V50s category at Hereford and Aberystwyth. Davies’s son, Spencer, has also shown much promise in the U16s category placing fifth at both rounds. Bronwyn Lally has represented the Club in a number of the Novice Women races securing top ten finishes.

Davies’s National Trophy Series cyclocross campaign is also under way. This series consists of events around Great Britain attended by both domestic and European riders. At the first round at Allenton in Derbyshire Davies, resplendent in his Welsh V50s Cyclocross Champion’s jersey, finished an excellent fifth in the V50s category.
