Talybont-on-Usk CC have returned to the Marches League after an absence of 26 years, but were left kicking their heels on Saturday after Brockhampton Fourths pulled out due to a lack of players.
One of the founder members of the league which was founded in 1976, the Bont has kept its hand in things by playing Sunday friendlies during the last ten years.
Original member of the 1976 side and current player Colin Griffiths is eagerly awaiting the start of the 2016 campaign, as the seasoned campaigner has been reunited with his son Huw for the first time since their Talgarth days.
The Bont picked up 20 points courtesy of the Brock’s absence, who in turn receive a 10 point deduction and a paltry £10 fine.
The Bont now hope to begin their season in earnest this Saturday.
