AS we march into 2014, Crickhowell enter the second half of the season in high spirits and remain determined to win promotion.

They certainly consolidated their second position in the league with a victory over Markham and although the final result indicated a fairly easy home win for Crick, it was anything but with the visitors making a fist of things to the last whistle.

Good Crick performances up front from Matt Price, Sean Buck and the ever reliable Ken Birch in the tight complemented by excellent lineout ball from Buck and the ever reliable James Webb saw an abundance of ball for the eager threes.

The majority of the score fell to the forwards but it was the threes that provided the field position that allowed the pack to push the advantage home. And push it home they did. 

Sean Buck ( 2) Andrew Reynolds (2) Matt Price, James Webb and Alan Taylor all made try scoring contributions and with captain Adam Howells adding six conversions, Crickhowell ran out solid and comfortable winners.
