Abergavenny RFC - 12
Croesyceiliog RFC - 13
ABERGAVENNY welcomed Croesyceiliog to Bailey Park hoping that a victory would kick-start the clarets' season. It was not to be.
Abergavenny fielded a much changed side from previous weeks with three first team props unavailable and Captain Rhodri Webster and Wil Williams injured, leaving the side deprived of some key players
Croesyceiliog seemed to start the game with much more appetite and enthusiasm than the home side and by capitalising on frequent Abergavenny mistakes soon built up a 13 -0 lead.
Just before half time Aber made a change to the front row and their scrum improved considerably, enabling them to get a foot hold in the game.
The home side began to put together several phases of play and were eventually rewarded with a try scored by Josh Davies.
Abergavenny continued to try and play free running rugby but frequent mistakes turned the game into a stop start affair.
With the last play of the game, Aber's outside half Stuart Davies scored a try under the post, converted by Dan Smith, to give the home side a much needed bonus point, but the victory went to Croesyceiliog, their first of the season.
Abergavenny Quins entertained Porth Harlequins winning 25-15.Tries were scored by Ieuan Mainwaring (2), Ethan Lewis and Rob Connick. This was a very entertaining and full blooded game of rugby but you would expect nothing less playing a side from the Rhondda Valleys.
Abergavenny youth travelled away to Bridgend based Tondu and were once again victorious giving them a proud record of four wins out of four.
Next week Abergavenny first team are away to Caerphilly, the bus will be leaving at 12.30, all supporters welcome.
