Abergavenny have played two games in the past seven days. The first of these was an EMBA game against Monmouth. Abergavenny won on three of the four rinks to win the game by 70 shots to 61. Rink scores were Jack Vale 17-11, John Vale 18-16, Matthew Vale 17-15 and Anthony Moriarty 18-19.

On Saturday Abergavenny travelled to Blackwood for an MBA fixture. As usual Abergavenny found it difficult to come to terms with the green and consequently lost on all four brinks to lose the game by 81 shots to 59.

John Vale’s rink was 14 shots down after seven ends but managed to reduce the deficit in losing by only three shots 21 shots to 18. Matthew Vale’s rink could never quite get ahead in their game and eventually lost 15 shots to 12. Anthony Moriarty’s rink were holding a match winning position on the final end but a final wood by the Blackwood skip enabled them to score one shot and win the game 19 shots to 15. The rink of Jack Vale could not get into their game and were defeated by 26 shots to 14.

Abergavenny Ladies played a two rink game at Panteg House against Pontypool Park last Thursday. Both rinks were successful which enabled Abergavenny to win the game by 49 shots to 23. Judi Belli’s rink made a confident start and then built on their early lead to win by 23 shots to nine. The rink of Wendy Parker had an early deficit but then managed to gain control of their game to go on and win by 26 shots to 14.

This weeks games will be against Caldicot at Avenue Road, an EMBA fixture at Bailey Park and the ladies will be playing the return fixture against Pontypool Park.
