BLAENAVON Blues have joined forces with local rivals and old friends Fairfield United to remember a former player.

Jeff Webb sadly passed away on May 26 2009, aged 46. The two clubs have decided the best way to remember Jeff is with an annual game in his memory.

The idea came from Fairfield United's committee and Blaenavon Blues are honoured to compete for the annual trophy.

Jeff played for both the Blues and Fairfield and was a superb natural footballer, not the biggest, but could read the game better than most and would always put his body on the line for his side.

The two clubs will compete for the Jeff Webb Memorial cup for the first time when they meet at the Memorial ground on Tuesday August 21 in a Gwent County league division one fixture.

kick off is at 6:15pm.
