IT'S been a traumatic two weeks for the Bleanvon Blues, who have seen their chairman Bill Jones and manager Charlie Attard both resign, as well as suffering the departure of two outstanding key players from the club.
To make matters worse, two 2-1 away defeats on the trot have left the club perilously close to the the relegation zone.
Taking matters into their own hands, the Blues held an EGM and elected Rob Browing as chairman and injured first team player Ryun Huish has taken over the manager's position with help from fellow first teamer Lee Wathen.
After the shock of losing top goal scorer Josh Bull to Welsh league outfit Abertillery Bluebirds
shortly before Christmas, Lee Penry and Mike Waite have both transferred to Croesyceiliog.
The Chairman thanked Mike Waite for ten years excellent service to the club and wished him
well for the future.
Huish's first game in charge was at AC Pontymister. The home side looked to be strolling at
2-0 but a fine 25 metre strike from Daryl Brenton brought the Blues back into the game. Stand-in-keeper Jonathan White made several fine saves including a penalty.
Last Saturday's visit to Spencer Boys and Youth started well for the Blues. Richard Williams twice made good contact with headers only to see them both fly inches wide of the target.
Craig Tanner should have opened the scoring when the Blues were awarded a penalty, but
placed his shot wide.
Ten minutes into the second period and the Blues were in front after young Jamie Brankley kept his head in a crowded goalmouth and scored
However, back came Spencers who scored a good equaliser from a corner.
The poor playing surface was not conductive to good football and this suited the stronger, more physical Spencer side. Consequently it came as no surprise when they sealed the result with a scrambled goal.
This defeat means the Blues have not won since their win over Albion Rovers in October. Since that fateful day they have only picked up one measly point, and that was against Govilon.
The club are now urging everyone to get behind Manager Ryun Huish and give him 100 percent backing to ensure the club maintains their Gwent County Division one status.
