COMMONWEALTH Games medal hopeful Becky James is urging fans to inspire her to glory in Glasgow. The Welsh cyclist has joined energy firm and proud partner of Glasgow 2014, SSE, to get fans behind their nation in the run up to the Games and tweet their support.  SSE recognises it's the fans energy that can make the difference to athletes going for gold.  As official sponsors of four of the Home Nations (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales), SSE is promising to reward every tweet of support for each nation with funding for the next generation of athletes. Fans are asked to spur on Wales by tweeting #GoWales and each tweet will count towards financial support for promising young athletes aged 11-20 in their quest for success. SSE's Next Generation programme currently provides vital financial help to 50 young athletes across the UK. In recognition of the value of this to British sport, the organisation will double the number of athletes supported to 100 a year for the next three years. SSE Home Nation ambassador, Becky James, said, "One of the greatest lifts any athlete can get going into a massive competition like the Commonwealth Games is knowing your whole country is behind you. That's why we're encouraging the four home nations to get behind their team by tweeting #Go and their country – it's such an easy way to show your support and help the next generation of sports stars." The investment underpins SSE's commitment as a proud sponsor of Glasgow 2014 and its continued investment in the communities it serves. Sir Chris Hoy, SSE Commonwealth Games ambassador, said, "I know from personal experience how important support can be. It is crucial for each home nation to unite and get behind their athletes ahead of and during Glasgow 2014. This will also secure the funding needed to help more SSE Next Generation athletes who are showing great potential in their respective sports." Tweet your messages of support to SSE Home Nation ambassadors and their team mates and help nurture your country's sports stars of tomorrow:
