Abergavenny Squash Club’s ‘E’ team entertained the ‘D’ team, who won comfortably by five matches to nil. There was a close match between Dean Jackson-Johns and Rhys Pritchard, which the latter just edged, but, for the rest, it was very much as expected, with the senior players outperforming the lower team. The two sides are propping up everybody else within the league!
The ‘C’ team lost its first match of the season 3-2 in a closely fought match against Newport ‘H’. Both Mitchell Lawrence and Rob Phillips won well, and Peter Steed did come close against a wily opponent, losing in the fifth set. Despite the loss, the team remains at the top of the table.

On the same night, the ‘B’ team maintained its impressive form by grinding out a 3-2 victory against Llantrisant ‘B’. This time, it was the lower orders that did the trick, with Gareth, Chris, and Carl winning their matches. As a result, the team move to the top of the table. Do back-to-back promotions beckon?

The ‘A’ team got back to winning ways, beating Cardiff ‘A’ by three matches to two. Steve Williams maintained his good form, with both Lewys Hurst and John Procter ably supporting him. As a result, the team move out of the relegation zone into sixth place.
