ABERGAVENNY’S Alex Griffiths is continuing to pull some impressive strokes and make some waves in the world of swimming.

At Swansea’s Swim Wales Winter Long Course Championships he reached the finals of the 50m, 100m and 200m Freestyle, the 50m and 100m Backstroke, and the 50m Butterfly.

He subsequently won three Gold medals and two Silver medals, and gained personal best times in all six disciplines. The 14-year-old is currently ranked number one in Wales for several disciplines in his age group, and within the top ten in Great Britain.
