Pictured are Abergavenny Junior Badminton Club products Aimie Whiteman, Alice Rhodes and Katie Whiteman at the recent European championships.
They were joined by Welsh Champion Jordan Hart and Jasmine Owen from West Wales.
These were the first senior caps for Alice and Kate, though Aimie had previously played for the senior team.
The trio all played well and gained valuable experience against high quality opposition.
At junior level, last weekend’s Welsh championships saw many Abergavenny juniors reach the finals, including Lydia Morris (U17) and Llwyd Crump (U15).
Pride of place must go to Hector Bult who won his first title in the U13 doubles with partner Zachary Morris (Penarth). He is following in the footsteps of older brother Archie who won both doubles titles at U19 whilst narrowly failing to defend his singles title.
The juniors play on a Tuesday from 5.30-7.30pm and the seniors follow until 9.30pm. Both clubs are looking for keen players who wish to compete.
The junior and senior club are both hoping to defend Gwent league titles won last year.
