ABERGAVENNY Badminton Club were well represented in each age group in the recent Welsh Junior Championships held in Cardiff.
The club’s youngest player Hector Bult played well and was runner up in the doubles.
At U15 level Lydia Morris finished up in the 3/4 position in singles and mixed (with Llwyd Crump also from Abergavenny).
Morris went one better in the level doubles and was runner-up to a strong North/West Wales pairing.
The U19 gave Aber their first titles with Aimie Whiteman and elder sister Katie taking the level doubles. Aimie also took the mixed with Gwent partner Dafydd Price.
The boys doubles saw Abergavenny player Will Vaughan partner Camarthenshire’s Dan Clarke to win the doubles and give Vaughan his first Welsh crown. The runners-up in this event were also Abergavenny players, Jonathan Ewins and Archie Bult.
Bult also finished in the 3/4 position in the singles.
The Sunday saw further success in U13/U17 events. 11-year-old Llwyd Crump won the doubles with Gwent partner Harper Leigh and finished as runner-up in the singles and mixed.
Aimie Whiteman added the U17 doubles crown to the two won the previous day to finish unbeaten all weekend.
The U17 boys doubles featured the same four boys as the U19 but this time Ewins and Bult beat Vaughan and Clarke to take their first titles.
Vaughan was also runner-up in the singles and Ewins runner-up in the mixed.
The results show the hard work put in by all players throughout the season and the club is very proud of their achievements.
