IN a tight, taut, tense, and thrilling affair, Mardy were undone by a 68th minute penalty in their match against Govilon.

Govilon's David Barry scored the winning strike and Ryan Smith was their man of the match.

Mardy's man of the match was Daniel Palmer.

Elsewhere in Gwent Central Division One, the Clydach Wasps versus Pilcs game was postponed and the Blaenavon Blues were torn in two by Tranch who beat them 2-6.

The Blaenavon goals came from man of the match Ben Belli and Chris George.

Gilwern and District beat local rivals Crickhowell 1-0. The all-important Gilwern goal was scored in the 70th by David Thomas from a volley.

Man of the match for Gilwern and District was goalkeeper Zak Lewis.

Man of the match for Crickhowell was Huw Morgans.

In the quarter finals of the Langdon Cup, Llanfoist welcomed Fairfield Utd to Pen-y-Pound and went down 1-2 by the stroke of half-time. Things took a turn for the worse for Llanfoist in the last 45 minutes as Fairfield fired in another two goals to no reply and won the match 1-4.

Division one top dogs Usk Town were also knocked out of the Langdon Cup as Panteg beat them 3-2 with a goal scored in extra time.

George Ashworth scored both of the Usk Town goals.

Second-placed team Pandy's cup run came to an abrupt end at the hands of Llanarth who beat them 5-4 on penalties. The sides were level-pegging after 90 minutes of normal time with Gavin Phillips and Colin Morgan scoring for Llanarth, and Kirk Morgan and Steve Wedlock on the mark for Pandy.

Current Division Two leaders Presoced scored the highest tally of the day when they pounded a visiting Pandy 'B' side 13-0.
