Govilon - 1
Abertillery Excelsiors - 1
GOVILON held out to claim a point in their match against Abertillery Excelsiors on the weekend.
The Badgers took an early lead when Craig Norman was on the end of a Nathan Davies free kick to edge his side ahead.
However within minutes, a Govilon attack down the left wing broke down, and Abertillery advanced at speed to fire past Dan Parsons in Govilon's goal . Both sides struck the cross bar with Govilon claiming their strike had crossed the goal-line but the referee disagreed and the score remained level at half time.
In the second half the impetus swung towards Abertillery when Craig Norman was dismissed, and defensive lynchpin Colin Morgan hobbled off with a leg injury, but Govilon saw things out for a draw. Next Saturday Govilon entertain Pentwynmawr Athletic at Pen-y-Pound. Kick-off is 2pm.
Pandy - 0
Govilon - 17
Elsewhere Govilon's second team made the short trip to Lower Meadow to take on Pandy. Govilon where far too strong for a Pandy side who made a fist of things right up to the last whistle.
Jamie Laurent opened the scorer followed shortly by Stephen Morgan and the first of seven for Jake Heckles. Tom Jenkins then started his own scoring spree which ended with his own goal tally reaching six. The last two goals of the game went to Max Williams and George Clark.
