PUPILS from Llanbedr School in Crickhowell took part in the Rotary CLub's Youth Speaks competition recently.

Some 14 pupils from years four, five and six took part and spoke on subjects of their own choice for approximately three minutes.

The use of power point projection demonstrated the depth of research that had been carried out by the young orators in preparation for their presentations.

The youngsters were supported by parents and governors of the school together with Rotarians. All competitors were congratulated by the President of the Crickhowell Rotary Club for the maturity and enthusiasm of their presentations.

Finally the winner of the year four competition was announced by Rotarian Alan Jones, as Morgan Vaughan spoke on his visits to Egypt. The winner of the year five and six was Ellie Lewis-Price who showed herself to be a cat lover.
