As in previous years, the wall2wall Jazz Festival has something for all ages, including the very young.
On Saturday, September 3, the 4pm Rhythm and Music for Early Years workshop at the St Michael’s Centre offers a fun and friendly parent and toddler session where you can enjoy exploring rhythm, music and movement together through nursery rhymes and songs. The workshop will include use of puppets, props, parachutes, musical instruments and lots more.
The festival workshop will be run by Mini Movers, and it is ideal for those who want to share the enjoyment of music, singing and movement with their child. The workshop only costs £3 per toddler (parents free) - so, come and join in the fun.
This will be followed at 5pm with an exciting Samba workshop, which is being organised for wall2wall by Upbeat Music and Arts Service. It promises to be high energy and terrific fun for all ages - young and old!
The goal is to produce something that can ’kick start’ the festival’s family-orientated free Jazz Alley in the Market Hall on the following day - but please still come to the workshop even if you cannot make the Sunday.
Absolutely no prior experience is necessary and all instruments will be provided and like the earlier workshop, the cost is just £3.
You can either book the workshops online at www.wall2walljazz.co.uk, or phone 07958 612 691 (Mike) to reserve a ticket and pay on the day.
