There are just 100 days to go until Velothon Wales 2016 (Sunday May 22) and cyclists from around the UK have been snapping-up places to take part in the 140km closed-road event.
Up to 18,000 riders can take part in the event, tackling the same 140km course as some of the world’s best pro teams in the UCI classified 1.1 professional road race.
The inaugural Velothon Wales in 2015 was a huge hit with cyclists, bringing more than 10,000 riders of all ages abilities to the area, benefitting the local economy by an estimated £2m and raising more than £300,000 for good causes.
But there were complaints from a number of local residents and businesses about the length of road closures and general lack of communication.
Run4Wales, who’ve been taken on to organise this year’s event, say those who will be affected will start receiving letters detailing closure times and alternative arrangements from the end of this month.
The final route will also be confirmed later this month.
