USK just managed to retain their hot spot at the top of the Gwent Division One pile with a narrow 2-1 win over Govilon on Saturday.
Played on the 'Island', the two sides went into the interval deadlocked at 1-1 courtesy of goals by George Ashworth and Aaron Marfell.
Josh Green scored the Usk Town winner in the second half.

Second placed Pandy beat local rivals Mardy away to the tune of 1-5. Jason Osbourne put Pandy 0-1 in front before Mardy's James Copeland equalled affairs in the second-half. This seemed all the incentive Pandy needed to go and score four more without reply.

Third placed side Llanarth had the highest score of the day by beating a visiting Tranch side 10-2.
Despite going into an early 0-1 lead, Tranch eventually succumbed to a good old Llanarth battering. Peter Maddocks got the party started when he shot home the equaliser and then prolific goal machine Dan Wheeler bagged a quick-fire hat-trick to take the half-time score to 4-1.
Into the second-half and Llanarth went further ahead with Gary Davies bagging a brace and Roy Bond and Steve Morgan scoring one apiece, leaving Dan Wheeler to add another two and take the Llanarth total to ten.
Man of the match for Llanarth was Peter Maddocks.
Gilwern and DIstrict held Panteg to a 2-2 draw. Kieran Shevlin and Adam Carrington were both on hand to take the goals.
Man of the match for Gilwern was goalkeeper Dan Hook.
Llanfoist were also held to a 2-2 draw at Pen-y-Pound by a visiting Fairfield Ud. Michael Davies and Nick Hammett did the honours.

Blaenavon Blues were soundly beaten 0-3 by Pilcs. Man of the match for Blaenavon was Steve White.
Clydach Wasps scraped to a 2-1 home win over Crickhowell. Nathan Wall gave Clyach a 1-0 led after 30 minutes with a flick on header from a spectacular Luke Welsh free kick from the half-way line.
In the second-half Kyle Cheshire netted Clydach's second goal and Gareth Williams pulled a goal back for Crickhowell.

There was only one game played in division two, and it was one which saw Prescoed cruise to a 0-8 victory over Pontypool Town.

In the first found of the Benevolent Cup, Pandy 'B' recorded a 2-0 first leg win on Lower Meadow over Usk Town 'B'. Strikes came from Jamie Giilchrist and Daryl Wall.
