Unicorn Singers are so pleased to be back singing, and they have a bumper concert coming up this Saturday (2nd April at 7.30pm).

The Singers will again be making music at Our Lady and St Michael’s Church, Pen y Pound, Abergavenny, NP7 5UD.

Unicorn Singers are a choir of around thirty who explore exciting repertoires from the Medieval, Renaissance, and Early Baroque periods.

Join the choir for an emotional rollercoaster as they chart the tumultuous events of Passiontide in sublime sound.

Here is music of great depth and emotion, spanning the rich polyphony of Renaissance composers Byrd, Gibbons and Sheppard to the epic modern day soundscapes of John Tavener and Eric Whitacre.

This rich tapestry of pieces unravels both the agony and ecstasy of the Holy Week drama from the poignant moments of the Last Supper and Crucifixion to the joy and mystery of Easter Morning itself.

There is much contrast for the listener throughout, with other choral gems from leading composers Purcell, Bruckner and Poulenc adding a further dimension to the programme.
