Two people have been arrested after three cyclists were injured in a hit-and-run crash in Llanllowell near Usk on Sunday.

Following the crash on Llanllowell Lane, 1at around 4pm on Sunday one cyclist remains in a critical but stable condition at University Hospital of Wales (UHW) in Cardiff where a second was treated for serious injuries but later released.

A third cyclist was treated for minor injuries at Nevil Hall Hospital in Abergavenny.

A man, 40, and woman, 45, have been held on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving, driving while over the limit and failing to stop.Police have issued an appeal for witnesses.

Gwent Police said that the car involved in the collision made off from the scene.
