WHILE the Old Brewery Yard undergoes a transformation traders who have outdoor stalls at the Abergavenny Tuesday market will be moving to the cattle market site for 15 months.
The Brewery Yard site will include a café, new toilet facilities and public artwork. When the work is complete the traders will then move back to the new Brewery Yard adding a continental market atmosphere to the new development.
Market trader, Adrian Nelmes, said, "It is not a huge problem for us to move to the cattle market site. Actually, some of the site has a covered area which may encourage more visitors even when it is raining and I am really excited about moving to the new brewery yard when it is finished."
Deputy Leader of Monmouthshire County Council and Cabinet Member for regeneration services, Bob Greenland said, "The first outdoor market at the cattle market site will be held on Tuesday 14th October. We've erected extra signs that will be put up throughout the town showing market visitors how to get to the new site of the outdoor market. It's great to see that the work on Brewery Yard is starting as it marks the beginning of a very exciting chapter for Abergavenny."
