A fundraising tribute to former Mayor of Abergavenny and Chairman of Monmouthshire County Council, Jane Foulser, who died last August, will take place on Saturday March 4 at The Angel Hotel, Abergavenny (7pm to midnight).

The event, which is a dinner, with live music from the Johnny Ned Band, is intended to raise money for Alzheimer’s research and will feature an auction conducted by local auctioneers Straker Chadwick and a raffle.

Mrs Foulser’s daughter, Jane Foulser McFarlane wanted to organise an event in memory of her mother, which would also benefit Alzheimer’s research and draw attention to this horrific disease, which affects not only the sufferers but the family as well.

Jane has been lucky enough to have the support of her cousin, Sheila Hale, who is experienced in organising large events, to help her to make the evening a very special occasion for everyone.

Jane was aware that this year the chosen charity of the Mayor, Councillor Chris Woodhouse, was the Alzheimer’s Society and he has been invited to attend the event and give it his support.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday February 9 and will cost £40 each.

They’re available from Jane Foulser McFarlane, who can be contacted on 07771 762755 and also from the Town Clerk in Abergavenny Town Hall.
