Abergavenny Pantomime Society makes a point of donating money to charitable causes and this year one of the beneficiaries was Longtown Mountain Rescue Team.

Members of the company took time out at one of their rehearsals recently to present a cheque for £100 to the team of volunteers.

Abergavenny Pantomime Company, which is the oldest pantomime company in Wales, is performing Sinbad the Sailor during February half term, which will be the fifth time it has been performed in its 84-year long history.

Sinbad the Sailor opens at the Borough Theatre on Monday February 15 and runs until Saturday February 20, with matinees on Friday and Saturday.

Sail away with Sinbad as he sets out to rescue a princess kidnapped by two evil baddies working for her wicked Uncle.

Will his ship survive? Will the giant canary eat him? Find out, half-term week, at the traditional family show.

As ever it also involves a full chorus of forty, with a strong supporting cast. Musical numbers include Rock the Boat, Black Magic and Jump in the Line Shake Señora.

Tickets are now available online at boroughtheatreabergavenny.co.uk or from the Box Office on 01873 850805, priced from £5 to £7.50.
