LAST Sunday saw local girl Sharla Passariello fulfill a lifetime's ambition when she won her first Welsh senior cap as a second half substitute in her country's 3-0 victory over Slovenia at Llanelli.

The former King Henry VIII School pupil started out in junior football at the age of six with the Mardy Juniors. Passariello later went on to wear the Mardy Tigers FC shirt, a club for whom she scored an amazing 250 goals.

Mardy Tiger's coach Wayne Jeremiah said "From the very first time I saw her play over 10 years ago, I knew that Sharla would go all the way.

" Everyone at Mardy Tigers are very proud of her. She's dedicated her life to football and deserves everything she gets out of the beautiful game."

Passariello now plays her football for Bristol Academy where she also studies.

This evening the Tigers will hopefully be getting a closer look at their heroine when she plays for Wales U19's against Bulgaria at Goytre FC's Plough Road.

The Mardy Tigers will be supplying the mascots and ball girls for the match.
