Welsh fans are flagging up their support for their national football heroes as Wales bids for a history-making place in the final of Euro 2016.

Just two weeks after launching a new service offering bespoke suits with a customised lining made from flags, Brit fashion label Johnny Tuxedo has seen demand for the Welsh flag soaring.

Young style-savvy men are snapping up the classic suit with a flash of the red dragon after Wales beat Belgium in the quarter-finals to secure a place in tomorrow’s semi-final.

The well-dressed tribute comes after Wales became the first Euro debutants to reach the last four since Sweden in 1992. But they could now be the first ever to reach the finals if they manage another shock win against tournament favourites Portugal.

Boss of the Yorkshire-based firm Austen Pickles said they had launched the customised lining service to meet demand for a modern and colourful twist to the old black and white classic.

But he added that now it was also a hit among trend-setters who wanted to make more than just a style statement.

“The Welsh flag has out-stripped demand for any other nation and it’s no surprise when you think what a wonderful run they have had at the Euros,” he explained.

“Everyone wants to be Welsh at the moment and support the team in their efforts. And why not show that passion when flashing the lining of your tux?”

Johnny Tuxedo, based in Ilkley, has also seen a glut of orders for the EU flag. But only a dozen for the Union Jack.

“When we launched in 2013 it was all about providing the most stylish tuxedo at the most affordable price. Now customers want to put their own stamp on them and this is the best way possible.

“Over the last two weeks we’ve had orders for the EU flag, the Leicester City emblem as well as Army regiments. It’s been a phenomenal response. Just a shame our Britannia lining is flagging in comparison.”

While it is becoming a must-have to customise your tuxedo the look doesn’t need a footballer’s salary to afford it. The classic Johnny Tuxedo two-piece with bespoke lining is just £199.

Working from offices and a design studio in north Yorkshire, the heart of British textiles and tailoring, Johnny Tuxedo is perfect if you are looking for something different for your style, gift or fashion pages.
