GETTING the message across loud and clear!
These two mysterious posters made a surprise appearance just outside Abergavenny’s notorious ‘bomb site’ plot behind the town centre this week.
No sooner were they up than they were down. Perpetrators of the propaganda exercise - presumably a dig at the delay over Morrison’s hoped-for occupation of the old livestock market’s empty acres - are not known.
Whoever it was spent a very tidy sum - more than a week’s shop - on the banners.
Philip Bowyer, who took the photos, told the Chronicle, “The posters were very quickly removed. I do not know who put them up or who took them down - but they were very well made and I am sure many of your readers would love them.”
Diligent inquiries revealed that Monmouthshire County Council had the posters taken down.
An MCC spokesman confirmed, “The posters were considered as flyposting and removed.”
