GLANGRWYNEY CC recorded an important win on Saturday over struggling Bosbury at the Groin.

Mr. Boswell has come into tossing form over the past few weeks and elected to bowl.

The Bosbury openers however chanced their arms and latched onto anything loose with Dave Spiller (68) the main aggressor.

An early breakthrough for Joe Bowker and a fine one handed 'stumbling' catch from Phill Bowker held up the run rate but it wasn't until the introduction of spin twins Phill Bowker (3/46) and youngster Stevo Darwent (2/41) that the tide started to turn for Glangrwyney.

83/3 quickly turned into 104/5 aided by some good fielding from the home side. Ben Bowker (4/40) returned to mop up the tail and the visitors were eventually bowled out for 166.

Things started poorly for the "Groin," losing Mike Parker (0) for a Golden Duck second ball of the innings and Paul Daniell soon after.

At 35/2 the game was in the balance, although Tim Jones (83*) and Joe Bowker (51) latched onto some lose bowling from the visitors putting on (114) for the third wicket. Cue batting collapse...

There were some anxious moments when Joe Bowker, Nick Jones and Ricky Ashe all departed in quick succession leaving it to cool head Holmes and Jones to finish the job.

The victory almost secures Division One status for Glangrwyney with three games of the season remaining.
