DESPITE leading 1-0 at half-time through a goal by Leighton Brown, Llanfoist were beaten 2-1 by Gilwern and District in the last ten minutes of the match as Matthew Williams scored the equaliser and Nathan Webb scored the winner in the 90th minute.

As a result Gilwern now sit top of the Gwent Central Premier League.

Man of the match for Gilwern was Steve Williams. Man of the match for Llanfoist was Luke Ewers .

Usk Town won 1-2 away over local rivals Llanarth after a goal-less first-half. Usk's strikes came from Lewis Thomas and man of the match Jeremy Barton.

The goal scorer for Llanarth was Michael Morgan. Llanarth's man of the match was Tom Allerton.

Pandy's game against Pontypool Town at Albion Road finished up all square on 2-2. All the goals were scored in the first-half.

Kirk Morgan and Gareth Staphnill did the honours for Pandy who were at one stage 2-0 down. Man of the match for Pandy was Shaun Moss.

Match of the day in Division One was league leaders Goytre's 3-5 victory over Tranch courtesy of a Gareth Edmund's hat-trick, plus strikes by Craig Cooper and Dan Wharton.

Govilon were beaten at home 2-4 by a visiting Pilcs side. Govilon's consolation goals came from Stuart Norman and Lewis Meadows.

There was a goal drought at Pen-y-Pound on the weekend as the Abergavenny Thursdays game against Blaenavon Blues ended in a 0-0 draw.

The Thursdays dominated throughout the first half of a very open game, but were guilty of throwing away at least three golden chances.

After the interval the blues got their game together and went close on a couple of occasions, only to be thwarted by keeper White who must have been very relieved to have kept a clean sheet after a nightmare couple of weeks. 

Man of the match for the Thursdays was Chris Lambert.

Man of the match for the Blues was Marc Browning.

Second-placed outfit Clydach Wasps cruised to a 4-2 home win over a visiting Panteg outfit.

The Wasps stung through a Simon Tippins brace, a solo effort from Scott Ambler and an own goal from Panteg.

An impressive Mardy romped to a 10-3 home win over Cwmffrwdoer after Lewis Welch (4), James Copeland (2), man of the match Stephen Smith (2), Shane Higginson and Joseph Hooton all played their part in destroying the opposition.

In Division Two Clydach 'B' visited Usk 'B' on the 'Island' in a match that ended even stevens on 3-3.

Usk's strikes came from Peter Maddocks, Adam Glencross and Scott Lauder.

Clydach's goals came through Ben Ward (2) and Paul Travis.

Man of the match for Usk was Marc Cordell. Man of the match for Clydach was Andrew Buffton.

After leading 1-2 at half-time, Llanarth 'B' were outclassed by newcomers Panteg 'B' in the last 45 minutes as the homeside went on to win the game 3-2.
