People across Abergavenny are being invited to join athlete Jamie Baulch in a challenge that will see them race against the clock to complete scavenger hunt-style tasks– in a bid to win tickets to two RBS Six Nations matches at Principality Stadium.

Taking place on Saturday February 13 - the day of the first RBS Six Nations game at the newly-named stadium - Principality Stadium Challenge will see a team from Abergavenny pitted against four other regions across Wales and issued live challenges from Principality Building Society’s Twitter account, battling it out for tickets to the France and Italy home matches.

The challenge will bring a taste of the RBS Six Nations action to the heart of communities across the country, giving everyone across Wales the chance to get involved regardless of where they live.

Four lucky people from Abergavenny will join the athlete and building society staff on the day and battle teams in each of Principality’s branch regions, led by TV presenter Matt Johnson (Cardiff), TV personality Sian Lloyd (Bridgend), singer Wynne Evans (Swansea) and former Wales international rugby player Rupert Moon (Wrexham).

With the RBS Six Nations tournament soon to kick-off, the challenge is the first of many exciting initiatives to be rolled out by Principality as part of its historic 10-year partnership with the WRU.

Jamie Baulch said, “The Principality Stadium Challenge is bringing the action from inside the Stadium to communities across Wales, so people in Abergavenny won’t miss out. I need a team who are quick off the block as this challenge is a race against time. If you love rugby you need to enter this competition!”

Wales’ national stadium was officially renamed Principality Stadium last month, in a ten year partnership between Wales’ largest building society and the WRU which will help encourage, develop and grow Wales’ national game at all levels.

The Principality Stadium Challenge aims to strengthen ties with local communities across Wales and give people the chance to attend not only one but two RBS Six Nations games.

Sasha Garnet-Jones, Principality’s Abergavenny branch manager said, “The Principality Stadium Challenge marks an exciting start to our brand new partnership with the WRU. We’re committed to engaging with communities across Wales – and of course proud supporters of Welsh rugby – so this challenge is the perfect way to get everyone involved in the action that’s taking place in the capital over the next few weeks.”

Terms and conditions can be viewed at principality.co.uk/stadiumchallenge. Entrants must be available on Saturday February 13 and able to get to Abergavenny town centre.
