Crickhowell’s eleven-year-old Poppy Jones, who has the life-limiting condition of quadriplegic cerebral palsy, is set to take part in the Swansea Triathlon next month (May 28) with her dad Rob.?Rob will swim 750m towing Poppy in a boat, cycle 20k pulling Poppy with him and run 5k pushing her in bespoke adapted equipment designed and co-funded by Cerebra and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David who make up CIC, Cerebra Innovation Centre.?“Taking part in this triathlon is very exciting for her and psychologically will really benefit her,” said Rob.
“She gets so frustrated at the limits her condition puts on her and this will really focus her mind on what she can do. Poppy doesn’t think ‘I can’t’ but rather ‘with a little help I can’.”?
