THE SUN shone and thousands of visitors descended on Abergavenny’s Bailey Park on Sunday and Monday to enjoy the annual Steam and Vintage Rally.

Organised by the town’s Rotary club, the event last year raised more than £20,000 for good causes in the town and it is hoped that the wonderful Bank Holiday weather will see an increase in this figure.

Among the special guests who enjoyed the sight of a park packed with vintage steam engines of all types and ages, were the Mayor and Mayoress of Abergavenny Councillors Chris and Sheila Woodhouse and newly re-elected Monmouth AM Nick Ramsay, who passed on his congratulations to the organisers for the excellent two days.
