CLASSICS such as The Time Machine, Three Men in a Boat and Achilles will be vying for stage space with stage and TV star, Lucie Jones, Magic’s tribute to Queen and Robert Habermann who will be bringing ’Ol Blue Eyes Frank Sinatra back to life.

Dyad Productions (the creators of Jane Eyre: An Autobiography, Dalloway, Female Gothic, Austen’s Women and Christmas Gothic) start the new season with H.G. Wells classic The Time Machine.

The National Theatre Wales make their first visit to the theatre with Peter Cox’s one-man show The Stick Maker Tales. A Kick in the Head present their rip roaring barrel of fun, Three Men In A Boat and Company of Wolves use a fusion of storytelling, dance and song to tell their tale of Achilles.

Music lovers can choose from West End musical and TV star Lucie Jones performing an eclectic mix of songs from her favourite stage musicals, movie soundtracks and most adored recording artists.

Magic return with their tribute to Queen, Robert Habermann tells The Frank Sinatra Story, Abergavenny’s own Elvis is performing a fundraiser for Tenovus Cancer Care Unit, T.Rextasy return and Jackson Live in Concert make their debut.

Other popular music events include Leather & Lace, The Rock Anthems and Power Ballads Show, Abba - Forever in Concert and the Johnny Cash Roadshow.

Folk/World music fans can look forward to The Drystones and the Debashish Bhattacharaya Trio offer an evening of Indian ragas and bluesy Western style music, while Swansea City Opera return with their beautifully staged Cosi Fan Tutte.

Family audiences are well served with Bert’s Magical Musical Kitchen and Elmer The Patchwork Elephant. There’s also a Welsh language children’s event Rwtsh Ratsh Rala Rwdins.

Retired British police murder squad detective, Trevor Marriott has finally concluded his long and protracted cold case investigation and now claims to be able to answer that long standing question ’Who Was Jack The Ripper?’

As always, there’s a wealth of talent from local performers: Abergavenny Amateur Operatic Drama Society present Oklahoma, Abergavenny Theatre Group perform Haywire and there are showcases of talent from Dance Blast and Mayzmusik Performing Arts Academy and King Henry VIII School ends the season with its annual concert.

The perennially popular Illyria returns with two pieces of open air theatre at Abergavenny Castle Grounds, The Tempest and Frankenstein.
