An Abergavenny rock festival raised over £1400 for cancer sufferers after hosting their most successful event to date.
The fourth Kamfest saw rockers and revellers drum up thousands of pounds to support the vital work of Macmillan and their tireless mission to ease the burden caused by the life-defining disease.
Three bands played the Nevill Hall Social Club on April 30 to a crowd which grows larger with each year since the festival began in 2012.
Organiser Robert Antell, of band Kamikaze Millionaires, said, “The response has been fantastic; the festival just continues to get bigger and better with every year. It’s all for the sake of having a great time and raising money for worthy causes be it £10 or £10,000.
“Kamfest 4.0 was the most successful yet, raising over £1400 for Macmillian. I’m wondering if you could thank and mention the folks that supported the event this year in the hope that we can get even bigger donations next year!”
A plethora of local businesses chipped in with prizes for festival goers such as smart cameras, event tickets and signed rugby jerseys.
Mr Antell said he would like to wholeheartedly thank everyone involved in the event, including:
Kath Jenkins and the incredible staff at Nevill Hall Social Club, Shackleton’s Chemist, Spice Lounge in Llanfoist, Panasonic, Marcus Harper, Steel House Festival, Max Reed and Mike Evans, the WRU and Jamie Roberts, The Gwent Dragons, Pizzarante in Abergavenny, The Media Centre, and David ‘Spoon’ Prosser.
