Timothy Jackson pleaded guilty at Cardiff Crown Court today to the murder of his stepmother Anne Jackson.
Jackson, 49, originally entered a not guilty plea on January 19 to murdering the 78 year old poet at her home on Little Wentwood Farm near Usk on November 1, 2014. Mrs Jackson was murdered with a household knife which had been feet away at the time of the row between Mrs Jackson, also known in the publishing world as Anne Cluysenaar, and her stepson.
Judge Neil Bidder QC adjourned the sentence until March 26, where he requested that the defence, Andrew Taylor, and the prosecution, Michael Jones and Roger Lloyd Thomas QC, present written submissions of the schedule of aggravated mitigation factors.
He also said that the sentence would be postponed until a medical report was submitted to the defence, which he said he would order DR James to hand over by March 4.
The defendant, who appeared via video link from Cardiff prison will appear in person in court on March 26 where he expected to be sentenced.
