Two and a half years ago Tenovus Cancer Care started a choir in Abergavenny.

At the first choir practice there were three people. The Sing With Us choir now has more than 100 members all benefitting from the power of singing.

On Friday December 18 at 7pm at St Mary’s Priory Church, Abergavenny the Sing With Us Choir will be joined by a host of local supporters including The Beaufort Male Voice Choir, St Mary’s Priory Choir and St Cadoc’s Millennium Chimes in a concert to help raise vital funds for cancer patients and their loved ones.

Paul Rothwell, from Only Men Aloud, will be hosting the evening.

Marion Ashton, Tenovus Cancer Care Ambassador is encouraging local people to join in the celebration and memorial.

“Christmas can be a very difficult time for everyone affected by cancer. Whether there’s been a loss in the family or someone you know is dealing with a diagnosis our Lovelight concerts can help to bring people together. It’s a time dedicated to remembering and reflecting. Candles will be lit to remember those we’ve lost to cancer and memory cards will be handed out for your own personal message which will be hung on a Christmas Tree in the church. We’d love as many people as possible to come along and join us in this memorable evening.”

Tickets for the evening are £10 and include a glass of mulled wine and mince pies served in The Priory Centre after the concert. All money raised will go towards helping those affected by cancer.
