A RURAL pub has been given the go ahead to allow up to 20 touring caravans on its land as part of its continued diversification.
Planners at Monmouthshire County Council praised the forward thinking of the owners of the Hog's Head, which is situated within the grounds of Great Treadam Farm at Llanvetherine.
Planning chief George Ashworth said: "There were some initial concerns over the access to the former agricultural land to the rear of the pub, but passing bays have since been identified on approach roads to eliminate any of these issues.
"We all know that licensed premises, especially in rural areas, are going through tough times and we feel that the owners should be commended in looking for sustainable ways in which to diversify their business.
The councillors unanimously voted in favour of the scheme.
