IT is quite interesting to compare prices of products on a

same measure basis even though some products we all

need each day, whilst others are obvious luxuries.

Just think about comparing these random products on

average per litre cost basis.

Milk, 70p, cough mixture £109, single malt scotch

£25.40, Britney Spears perfume £315, bottle water £4.30,

can of red bull £6.50, ladies' face cream £329, eye drops

£280, petrol £1.11.

I had always wondered why the majority of inkjet

computer printers were so cheap, especially as my

present printer cost only £29 from a supermarket chain

that might be coming to our locality.

Imagine my surprise when I calculated how much a litre of

ink would cost for my cartridge £520!

If Shakespeare was alive now and banging out plays and

sonnets on his personal computer, he may have thought

about adding to the line: "Brevity is the soul of wit," with

"Alas, poor Yorick, especially with today's price of ink

cartridges."
