THE Abergavenny branch of Prezzo will be closing its doors following the company’s decision to enter into a Company Voluntary Arrangement process to avoid going bust.

The branch, on Frogmore Street, has been deemed, ‘Clearly not viable’ and with ‘No prospect of being restored to viability.’ under the terms of the arrangement.

The branch is one of the firm’s 94 Italian-style restaurants across the UK facing the axe in a cull on ‘Under-performing’ locations announced by the company’s chief executive, Jon Hendry-Pickup.

Mr Hendry-Pickup issued a statement saying, ‘We recognise this process will impact many of our team members and their families.

We are committed to keeping them informed, and will be doing all we can to support them during this difficult time.’

Closures of the affected branches are set to begin in April.
